[Another brief hesitation, followed by an unseen nod] You d-didn't know. I've h-h-hurt people before like th-that, too. I would w-want people to u-unders-understand. A bit. So. You are f-forgiven. M-maybe we'll b-both get b-better at things like this? If we t-try? We can help e-each other.

[ The soldier hums a curious note. ]

Help... each other? [ This is... perhaps not a novelty to him, since he has had comrades before. Squad mates. His little soldier friend. But... it is rare that someone offers help in this way. He is not... used to it. ] I...

[ He thinks of his sword shoved through Windy's side, of how much guilt that causes him, of how much he doesn't want to do that anymore. He thinks of his orders--"eliminate Megaman! Patrol the halls and report!"--and vents a little unsteadily. He is... conflicted, but... ]

[Whit vents out a relieved sigh he hadn't been aware he was holding in]

G-g-good! I mean, um. I'll b-b-be happy to help and b-be helped. I th-think we might be, um, might be a l-lot alike! I s-sometimes... [A shake of his head that the soldier can't see] I s-sometimes need help. Or f-forget where I am, or wh-wh-what I was doing. B-but if you're G-gold Arm's, um. Person, th-then I trust you that y-you'll be g-good at it. And be g-good. Even if it's hard.

[ The soldier shifts uncomfortably, though it cannot be seen over the voice call. The sound of his movement might be transcribed, however. He is silent for a long moment, but the line is clearly still active. He clears his throat finally; an artificial thing but somehow... needed. ]

I forget things too.

[ He hesitates, fidgeting with a soft blanket he had found. ]

I... know that I have been reprogrammed. Several times. It can lead to memory errors. Artifacts left behind. Sometimes it brings up old orders.

[ He vents out unsteadily and shakes his head sharply. ]

I will make an attempt to assist you as you assist me. These orders will be filed away.
